Training Needs Survey-The Trust Training Cooperative (TTC) conducted a Training Needs Survey as a follow-up to a
similar survey completed in 2007 with direct support staff. The purpose was to collect information on the training needs of direct support staff from the
perspective of executive directors, human resource directors, and other administrative personnel
at agencies working with Alaska Mental Health Trust Beneficiaries. Findings will be used to
help TTC located in Northern, Southcentral, and Southeast regions of the
state to better coordinate existing training opportunities and design new trainings to meet a variety
of identified training needs. Funding for this survey was provided by the Alaska Mental Health

DSW Survey-The University of Alaska Anchorage: Center for Human Development (CHD) conducted a survey of Direct Service Workers (DSWs) in Alaska for the Workforce Development Initiative Recruitment and Retention Committee sponsored by the Alaska Mental Health Trust Authority. The survey targeted DSWs who work with people with Developmental Disabilities, Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementia, chemical dependence, chronic alcoholism, mental illness, and traumatic brain injury. The goal of the survey was to develop a profile of job satisfaction and the influence of employment benefits on job recruitment and retention. DSW Survey Summary Results
Occupational Profile Report -Presents the results of an ACT WorkKeys® analysis of the entry-level Direct Support Services Staff occupation in Adult Day Services (DSSS in ADS) in Alaska, represented by the Trust Training Cooperative (TTC) in Alaska (funded in part by the Alaska Mental Health Authority). The analysis was conducted by Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development’s (AK DOLWD) ACT WorkKeys® authorized job profiler Laurie Fuglvog and the University of Alaska Chugiak-Eagle River Campus’s ACT WorkKeys® authorized job profiler Dorothy Hansen, to establish a task list and identify the WorkKeys® skill levels necessary for selection into and effective performance of the DSSS in ADS occupation at Adult Day Services Centers represented by the TTC in Alaska.
